How to add Lyrics to streaming sites
I just figured out how to add my lyrics to the streaming sites like Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, and others. There are really two sites that handle lyrics for two different types of musicians.

LyricFinder has the rights to gather and publish from all the major record labels and publishing houses. For the independent creator, like myself, the site is Musixmatch. I created a user and added Disaster Recover Band to my "Roster". It wants the Spotify artist page and the Apple Music artist page. With those entered, it didn't take too long to get verified.

I entered a few lyrics to Corporate Kings and waited awhile. It didn't go through right away, but I went through their little course on how to do lyrics and sync them to the proper point in the song. This is supposed to do like a Karaoke kind of thing where the lyrics highlight as the song plays. That has now flowed through for the first two songs I did and it's pretty cool. As of this writing, I am seeing the lyrics on Spotify and YouTube Music. So, it has been a success. Yay!

I find that it is a bit time consuming, especially doing the sync, since you have to go through each song and click when each line of the lyrics starts. But then, you only have to do it once and it's done forever. I certainly recommend for independent artists who have done the digital distribution thing to sign up on Musixmatch and add their lyrics. It's just going to help people better engage in your songs.
